Biography
SPaNK: the Band arose out of the highly successful Spank N the Monkey duo founded by Muz Roach and ace guitarist and friend Roscoe Flynn in the early noughties. Capitalising on the tired duo scene which had developed in the Newcastle area in the early 2000s, the boys quickly created a solid name for themselves with a blend of serious music, solid musicianship and compelling showmanship which kept audiences coming back for more. The recipe was a screaming success right from the start and saw them develop a strong following in the Newcastle and Hunter music scene. Venues were soon calling for the Spank boys to expand their highly entertaining duo into a full-fledged live band and take on new and bigger venues. Enter acclaimed drummer Cole Bussey. Muz and Roscoe had worked with Cole in various other acts between Sydney and the North Coast and were delighted he wanted to jump onboard the Spank fun train. SPaNK: the Band compliments their live performance with authentic state-of-the-art tracks to accurately reproduce a full night of massive hits. The repertoire is deliberately diverse and covers the best songs from each decade since the 80's, right up to the most current Top 40 hits. SPaNK: the Band specializes in getting a crowd involved and dancing. Front man Muz Roach is a gifted vocalist and an entertainer in every sense of the word, and he knows what it takes to get the crowd involved and begging for encores. Roscoe Flynn is a master of the classic rock riff and a virtuoso of the guitar solo and to top it off, the boy can sing.
