Biography

Village Idiots is an awesome acoustic duo based in Sydney and the Central Coast. Murph and Stufirst met while performing in the Newcastle Conservatorium production of The Music Man and quickly bonded over guitars, harmonies, and beer. Later that year we starred in an award-winning production of Godspell before moving to Sydney and starting the band Rhumjungle, gaining cult status while supporting bands like The Screaming Jets and The Radiators. With such experience in both musical theatre and the Australian rock scene, we bring that high-quality performance and flair to every Village Idiots show and focus on being as entertaining as possible, while never taking ourselves too seriously. We do not use any backing tracks and pride ourselves on delivering an energetic show with plenty of audience interaction with just two guitars, two voices, and awesome harmonies. Our wireless guitar packs allow us to roam around the room to interact with the crowd, providing a more personal experience for the punters. We currently have a repertoire of over 150 songs, ranging from the 50s and 60s to the hits of today, filled with such a variety of styles that we can cater for any audience.
