Biography
Whiskeyfyre is more than a band; it’s a blazing collision of grit, soul, and raw power, a sound shaped by the smoky smoothness of whiskey and the roaring intensity of fire, burning bright on stage and lingering long after the final note. Fronting the band is Lisa Byrne, a powerhouse vocalist and songwriter whose love of music sparked at just thirteen and carried her through festivals across Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. With a voice that blends the strength of rock and the heart of country, Lisa commands every performance with energy, passion, and truth. On guitar, Roger Lee brings fire and fury, fresh to the Newcastle scene but already making his mark after years as lead guitarist in China’s renowned heavy metal band Ironblade. His riffs and solos are unapologetic, fierce, and impossible to ignore, cranking Whiskeyfyre’s sound to new heights. Driving the groove is Paul “Wello”Wellings a bassist whose journey began on guitar in Sydney’s southern suburbs before he discovered the power of the low end. Influenced by legends like Paul McCartney and Bruce Foxton, Wello’s playing is precise, punchy, and locked in tight with the drums, providing the heartbeat that fuels every song. At the back of the band but never in the shadows, Paul “Reillz” Reilly has been drumming for more than thirty years, a veteran of the Newcastle scene known for his thunderous playing and unwavering support of live music. Together with Wello, he forms a rhythm section that hits hard and never lets go. Whiskeyfyre’s sound is country and rock with teeth — honest, rebellious, and unforgettable. Every show is a firestorm of energy and spirit, leaving audiences on their feet, hearts pounding, and ears ringing for more.
